Trek Highlights:
Manang is one of the most beautiful hidden valleys located along the Marshyangdi River. It is approximately 250 km northwest from Kathmandu however this region offers the feel of isolation through its rich Tibetan Buddhist culture, ancient Gompas, desert-like barren upper plateau landscape, traditional stone houses, open ancient cliff caves and the majestic vistas of snow peaks and waterfalls. The area was opened to trekkers in the 70s. It lies on the eastern region of the Annapurna Circuit and follows the footsetep of the Annapurna Circuit route. Manang valley is still used as the yak and salt trading point and it remains one of the important trading points of Nepal for East-Asia. During the time of King Mahendra, Manang was declared as the trading point of Nepal for East-Asia. Our trek will take you through mixedlandscapes of subtropical forest crossing traditional villages, incredible scenery to barren landscapes where you will feel the alpine temperatures. Highlights include views of Annapurna, Manasalu, Gangapurna, highest altitude Tilicho lake, Milarepa Buddhist cave, the Marshyangdi river and glaciers. |
