Manasalu Trek
Trek Highlights:
The Manaslu Circuit Trek is one of Nepal’s classic and off-the-beaten trails. It passes through the border between Nepal and Tibet and has been popular since its emergence in 1992. The trail is among the best treks in Nepal, taking you around the world’s 8th highest mountain, Mt. Manaslu, which is 8163 meters high. While all mountain treks in Nepal are immensely pleasing, the walk to Manaslu is by far the most peaceful and pleasing one. Although it opened nearly three decades ago, this Manaslu Trek is less crowded than Everest Base Camp (EBC) or Annapurna Base Camp (ABC). Take a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Machha Khola, appreciating the diverse landscapes. Get a closer view of the world’s 8th-highest peak, Mount Manaslu, 8,163 metres (26,781 ft). Trek to the Manaslu Base Camp (4,800 meters), the starting point of the Manaslu Expedition. Pass by the enthralling Canteliver bridge at Yarubagar, above the Budhigandaki River Gorge, along with more than 35+ suspension bridges. Crossing the highest point of the trek, Larkya La Pass at 5106 meters. Visit the majestic, turquoise lake, Birendra Lake, located near Samagaon. Panoramic views of dozens of giant Himalayas like Mount Manaslu, Himalchuli, Ngadi Chuli (Peak 29), Ganesh Himal, Himlung Himal, and Annapurna II. Chance of encountering strange flora and fauna, including snow leopards. Discover the fantastic local cultures as you explore the monastery, which dates back over 200 years. Explore the 600-700 years old Pyungen Monastery and peek into the local monks’ traditions and cultures. Trek to the Tibetan border from Samdo Village, a traditional trade center between Nepal and Tibet.Sleep at one of the highest altitude villages in the world, Dharmasala, at an altitude of 4460 meters.
